Solum church was built in the period 1714 - 1768 by builder Joen Jacobsen, Skien. The church has changed its appearance over time, the last time it was restored in 1959.
The baptismal font is as old as the church.
It was made of a wooden block and has the shape of an hourglass. It should remind us that time passes, Family follows the course of generations.
The church has approx. 250 seats.
