Otto Østenstad: (1927-2008) grew up and lived all his life in Gamleveien in Ås. He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts as a young man, but also worked as a decorator and illustrator in advertising and business life. From 1982 he devoted himself fully to art. He made many commissioned pictures, both for private individuals and for public institutions. Many of his works were bought by universities and research institutions. Several of his copper reliefs hang in DnC (now DnB), where he was long employed as a decorator and ornamenter, and many were used as gifts. He held a number of painting courses in Ås. He has also designed the logo for Å's art association.
